I Built a Task Dashboard With Claude - For a Team I Don't Officially Have Yet

Building the infrastructure before I have the team to plug into it

Momentous has never really had a system, honestly. Projects have basically just lived in my head, or in random Slack threads, or whatever needed doing that day. That's kind of worked, at this scale. But it's not going to work much longer.

I still don't know what that's going to look like yet - the actual shape of what's next with the team around this business is still getting figured out, and I'll tell you more once it's real instead of guessing. But in anticipation of that, and honestly just trying to be better about all of this - project management, organization, all of it - I've started building some of this out now instead of waiting.

So this week I used Claude to build out a real task board in Notion for Momentous. Not by hand, project by project - I fed it the briefs, the assets, the context I already had, and had it populate and organize the board, a little more streamlined than me doing it manually. Then I started wiring up Slack the same way, so Claude's not just sitting in a doc somewhere - it's actually listening, watching, interacting with where the work actually lives.

It's not perfect. It's wrong about priority about as often as it's right, and I still have to go back through and fix what it got wrong. That part's still on me.

The idea I keep coming back to: some kind of Slack bot that checks in every so often - what's coming up, what's overdue, what's about to fall through the cracks - before I have to notice it myself. Not a project manager. Just something that keeps asking, so I don't have to be the one remembering everything.

None of this replaces people. If anything it's the opposite - I'm trying to get the stuff underneath actually organized now, so whoever ends up plugged into this later isn't inheriting the chaos I've been operating in for years. AI's not running my business for me. It's just turning out to be pretty good at making sure nothing quietly disappears while I'm busy doing the actual work.
